Meet Gabriel

This kid has serious style. Not to mention he's talented as well! Was strolling around downtown with Cody the other day and ran into Gabriel Angelo, also known as the Trumpet Kid.

I've actually read an article on Gabriel before in San Francisco's 7x7 Magazine before, so it was pretty cool seeing (and hearing him play) in person. Other people strolling the streets recognized him as well, saying "Hi, Gabriel!" as he was doing his thing.

I love his style! He wears those orange brogues really well. Totes dressing up my future boy like this. Look out for Gabriel Angelo next time you're out in the city. He usually frequents downtown and the Financial District.

Summer Time In The SFO

Spent the day at Baker Beach with a couple friends the other day. We went to get our base tans on. Which I needed. Badly. My apartment virtually gets no natural sunlight, so it was nice stepping out of dungeon of a home and feel the sunlight actually hit my face.

Anastasia and I at Baker Beach by the Golden Gate Bridge. When it's really nice out, the bridge is totally postcard worthy of a picture. I luurrrvee summer time and hot weather. I can't wait for late september in San Francisco, when our summer really begins. That, and I also can't wait to rock tank tops and coochie shorts. Don't hate.

Sunday Brunch Or Bare Chest Contest?

I opted to skip out of Sunday brunch yesterday to attend the Bare Chest Contest Finals at DNA Lounge in SoMa. Yes, you read that correctly. Eggs benedict or a room of half naked men?... Hmm, hard decision, I know.

Actually, the Bare Chest Contest was for charity, raising money for the AIDS Emergency Fund and Positive Resource Center, so I wanted to show my support. That, and also the fact that my friend Maria who invited me had a friend who was a finalist.

Maria's friend, Cody, who was one of the finalist. Here he is. I met Cody about a year ago, and he was actually Mr. Bear 2010... Something along those lines. He was one of the 16 finalist, and ended up gaining the spot of Mr. October, also known as the month of my favorite holiday... Boo!

I haven't been to DNA Lounge in ages! I totally forgot how much fun it was. Not to mention the Lone Star Saloon, the bear bar which is around the corner. Just call me Goldie Locks for the evening. Yes I did just go there.

I think I kind of, sort of, mayyybbeeeeee have a crush on this contestant and maybe want to bare his children...

Local drag celebrity Cookie Dough performed B-52's "Love Shack"... Jon, Maria, Dave, and I got to dance on stage during the performance. See us dancing in the back? Serving ya'll with the Love Shack realness. So. Much. Fun.

The 12 men who make up the calendar... Woof! The cool thing about this event is that they raised $62,547 BEFORE calendar sales, which is impressive. Nothing gets donations like shirtless men, right? Look out for the 2013 Bare Chest Calendar and make donations here!

Mid April Holiday

I swear April 20th is like a national holiday for San Francisco. The entire city smelled liked pot, no matter what neighborhood you were in. On top of that, the weather was in its mid 70's today, which basically made everyone excited to be outside to spark a doobie.

Amazingly, I had the day off today. And so did Cody. So we decided to enjoy the weather by going to Golden Gate Park, where 80% of San Francisco was at, I'm sure.
High tops... I love high tops :). And I love people watching, and we pretty much got the best seat in the park to do that. So many interesting people out today.
See!... Told you about 80% of San Francisco was at the park today. With all these people here, I could've sworn I was at Outside Lands or something.
Buddies. Pals. Partners. Besties. BFFs. Companions. Amigos. Friends.
Goodies. Not the Ciara kind. Not that I would ever make marijuana confections, but I thought these were such a good idea. And cute too. I like cute things.

Sunset. Being in a sea of stoned people, it made me excited for summer. Cause you know... that's the first thing I get excited about when I'm in a sea of stoned people.

Big Trouble

In Little China. Was taking a stroll through China Town the other day, while heading to North Beach on a warm and sunny day. How come I don't do this more often?

Totally gave me flashbacks from when I was younger, going to China Towns with my family, every time we visited a new city (there's pretty much a China Town in every metropolitan city you go to). So much knick knacks. Then 20 minutes later, I ended up in Little Italy. Funny.

The Almighty Nugget Burger

Okay... So I really tried to refrain from giving this "local flavor" section of my blog a heart attack, but I couldn't resist. Remember the "Nugget Burger" I mentioned in my last post?
