Twin Peekers

I spy: Market Street, City Hall, Trans America Building, the Castro Theatre sign, and the Bay Bridge. How many landmarks can YOU spot?

The weather has been incredibly nice (for mid-January) the last couple days. It's getting me excited for summer. Let's just skip all of Spring and go straight to the month of June, please. Although with these random days of nice weather, it just means not-so-pleasant weather is just around the corner. Ugh, it's comin. I just know it.

I ended up goin to Twin Peaks last night to take advantage of the clear skies. Awesome view! How did you take advantage of this weather we've been spoiled with lately?

Someone Buy Me A Ticket To Italy NOW!

I'm falling more and more in love with North Beach the more I visit the area. All because of...

The food! I adore carbs, so naturally Italian is going to be one of my favorite cuisines. I had dinner at Ideale last night, on the narrow street of Grant Ave.

Anastasia and I. I had the risotto with clams/shrimp/mussels/calamari. Sorry Ariel, I spent the evening eating your friends.

My "Italian Mom", Ms. Rossi (from my previous post) recommended Ideale. She grew up and still lives in North Beach, so I was positive her recommendation was legit. Her family also owns Gino And Carlo, a bar that's been around since the 40's. A piece of North Beach history here! Or I mean, a piece of North Beach history HEEAAA *Pauly D's voice*

So anyways, back to my original request. Ticket to Italy? Anyone?

You Can Catch Me At The Hot Spot: New People

An hour lunch break and Japan Town being 2 blocks away, I tend to make my way there every so often and wander the random stores. I mean. Who really eats during lunch, right? One of the perks of working in the Fillmore area I guess.

So I took my co-worker/self proclaimed "Italian Mom", Ms. Rossi, to New People in Japan Town for the first time. A couple days before, we were browsing around Union Square for random home decor items, which she loves doing (and secretly, me too), so I thought she might like New People. They pretty much sell a bunch of artsy, smartly designed Japanese knick knacks.

I want everything in this store. Ms. Rossi felt the same way. Luckily, she left her purse back in the office (which she did on purpose) or else she would of left with a bag full of Japanese toys. Smart move!

Ms. Rossi striking a pose... or two! By the way, I really want one of those plant terrariums. But knowing me, it would probably be dead in a month regardless of the minimum care required. Just call me Black Thumb.

SF Bus Pass Art

It's January 2011. What did you San Franciscans do with your old bus passes? (Assuming you kept them, of course)

I remember the frenzy switching to the new Clipper card caused. Me personally, I was kind of sad because I was saving the Muni passes every month for the soul purpose of framing them! Oh well, still looks neat with what I have, right? Right.
